This very special so-called bullion patch is designed and made for the Dutch pilots who receive training on the F-35 lightning at the American base LUKE AFB, Arizona. The Dutch training detachment is embedded with the American 308 Fighter Squadron. This patch is made as a so-called Friday patch. A tradition among fighter pilots to wear a special patch on Friday. However, because this patch wears the Dutch crown, this emblem has not been approved by the Heraldry Bureau. That is why you have the unique opportunity to get this patch.
